After Brady's joke about Dan taking them with him, this may be the best quote I've read

This is an interesting comment to make with them both in attendance

I hope Roch meant 2014 in his tweet about Davis using.

I hope Roch meant 2014 in his tweet about Davis using.

I think you misread it since I think I did the same thing initially.

Davis said that he stopped getting the TUE in 2013. He doesn't say that he failed a test in 2013 (which he may have we don't know).

I now read it as, "I was first denied in 2013".

Maybe Roch tried to sneak too much info into 140 characters. His meaning is unclear.

    • I know all teams are matchup crazy but it’s really getting annoying.
    • Kjerstad needs to get a fair chance and not sit on the bench for most of the week. They should try to find room for Norby too even with his defensive limitations. I’ve been a Urias supporter, but if Mateo can be a utility infielder then there isn’t much use for Urias on the roster.
    • Seems that the Orioles have seen more left-handed pitchers this year and they also have seen that Adley traditionally has hit much better when DHing vs catching. Saying that, McCann has been absolute zero this year and looks like a guy who is in his last year of major league baseball. I'm sure McCann is a good clubhouse guy, but he's not a guy you want to run out there as much as they have been, and I think it's more out of necessity at this point.  Maybe Hyde/Sigbot will let Stowers actually start against a lefty and that would allow Rutschman to C more against lefties?
    • It’s partially you, because I certainly don’t see him doing that in almost every single at bat.  But I do see him doing it with some frequency, more so than in prior years.  I think he’s trying (with some success) to increase the launch angle on his swing, and that’s what’s causing the drop to one knee thing as he tries to get a little more under the ball.  His average launch angle has gone from 12.6 to 18.0, and he’s also pulling the ball more (42.5% to 38.4% last year) and hitting to the opposite field far less (20.3% to 28.3% last year).   I don’t think any of that is an accident.
    • I have noticed that too. He has definitely done in the past. Not sure if it just seems like it’s happening more often or if it truly is.
    • Eric Haase is having a good year in AAA on a milb deal. Brewers ties too. Currently with the Brewers AAA team. He had really good years in 2021 and 2022. He may have a June 1 opt out.    https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/h/haaseer01.shtml Just sayin… McCann might not be so safe. Haase is 4th on the brewers C depth chart. We have a good relationship with Milwaukee, or Haase could just opt out on June 1.  Haase can even play some LF too.
    • I think he’s fine in the regular season but if you look around at #4 starters on contending teams like NYY, LAD, PHI, and ATL you get: LAD: one of Walker Buehler/Bobby Miller/Clayton Kershaw (if healthy) ATL: Reynaldo Lopez (3.60 xERA, 2.90 FIP) or Max Fried (3.16 xERA, 3.51 FIP) NYY: Gil, Stroman, or Schmidt PHI: Turnbull (4.19 xERA, 3.62 FIP) or Sanchez (3.73 xERA, 2.58 FIP)   The only guys I would consider Kremer over are Stroman (who is probably the Yankees 6th best starter when Cole comes back) or Turnbull (very similar career numbers but has been much better this year). Again, he’s fine as a #5 but I would not want him starting another playoff game and if Irvin reverts back to being a 4-4.40 ERA guy, I don’t think we would be thrilled with that either.
